Instaa Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These Terms apply to your use of www.instaa.com.au and services provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] trading as Instaa, ABN [ABN].

By using Instaa, requesting pricing, requesting installer introductions or purchasing a service through our platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Instaa does

Instaa is a technology, quoting and connection platform for home products and services. Depending on your location, this may include:

  • air conditioning
  • hot water systems
  • solar
  • batteries
  • water filtration
  • other household products and installation services.

Instaa may:

  • provide instant estimated pricing
  • provide product information
  • identify available installers
  • connect you with independent installers
  • facilitate quote requests
  • assist with customer service and coordination.

Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, Instaa does not itself perform trade or installation work. Installation work is carried out by independent third-party providers.

2. Instant prices and estimates

Prices displayed by Instaa may be generated using information supplied by you and standard assumptions about the installation.

Unless clearly described as a fixed final quote, an instant price is an estimate only. Final pricing may depend on matters including:

  • site inspection
  • property layout
  • electrical requirements
  • plumbing requirements
  • switchboard condition
  • roof access
  • pipe or cable runs
  • structural conditions
  • product availability
  • access requirements
  • permits or approvals
  • unexpected site conditions.

Where Instaa expressly states that a fixed quote is valid for a particular period, that price will be subject to the conditions stated with the quote. Otherwise, an installer may need to confirm pricing before work proceeds.

Pricing presented to consumers must be clear and accurate and unavoidable charges need to be reflected appropriately under Australian pricing rules. ACCC

3. Information you provide

You agree to provide accurate information. Our prices and installer recommendations may rely on:

  • postcode
  • property type
  • system requirements
  • photographs
  • measurements
  • existing equipment
  • installation conditions
  • answers provided through our quote tool.

If information is incorrect or incomplete, pricing may change.

4. Installer introductions

By requesting installer quotes or options, you authorise Instaa to provide the information reasonably required to relevant installers.

Instaa may introduce you to up to three local installers. Those installers may contact you about your enquiry.

Submission of an enquiry does not require you to purchase from any installer unless you subsequently enter into a contract.

5. Independent installers

Installers appearing through Instaa are independent businesses. Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • they are not employees of Instaa
  • they control how installation work is performed
  • they are responsible for licences and trade qualifications required for their work
  • they are responsible for complying with applicable laws and standards
  • they are responsible for workmanship
  • they are responsible for warranties relating to their work.

Instaa may undertake onboarding or verification procedures but does not guarantee that a provider will remain suitable, available or compliant at all times.

6. Your installation contract

Unless Instaa expressly states that it is the supplier of the installation, the contract for installation is between you and the installer.

The installer should confirm:

  • scope of work
  • final price
  • product supplied
  • installation date
  • payment terms
  • warranties
  • exclusions
  • variations.

Instaa's role is primarily to facilitate the connection and quoting process.

Australian consumer rights against an online marketplace seller generally attach to the party supplying the relevant goods or services, depending on the structure of the transaction. ACCC

7. Payments

Where payment is made directly to an installer, the installer's payment and cancellation terms apply. Where Instaa processes a payment, additional payment terms shown at checkout may apply.

All consumer-facing prices are stated in Australian dollars. Unless clearly stated otherwise, prices intended as final consumer prices include GST where applicable.

8. Variations

An installer may identify work that was not reasonably apparent from the information provided when the initial estimate was generated.

The installer should explain any proposed variation and additional cost before carrying out additional work, except where urgent work is reasonably required for safety.

You do not have to approve optional additional work.

9. Product availability

Products, brands and models displayed on Instaa may change or become unavailable. If a selected product is unavailable, Instaa or the installer may offer an alternative.

You are not required to accept a substitute product.

10. Rebates and incentives

Information about government rebates, incentives, finance or schemes is general information only unless expressly stated otherwise. Eligibility can depend on:

  • location
  • property
  • product
  • installation date
  • customer circumstances
  • government rules.

Schemes can change. Instaa does not guarantee that you will qualify for a particular rebate or incentive.

11. Installation dates

Any installation date or timeframe provided before installer confirmation is indicative unless expressly guaranteed. Installations may be affected by:

  • weather
  • product supply
  • customer availability
  • installer capacity
  • site conditions
  • approval requirements.

12. Consumer guarantees

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Services supplied to consumers may carry guarantees including that they are provided with due care and skill, are fit for a disclosed purpose where applicable, and are provided within a reasonable time where no time has been agreed. ACCC

13. Warranties

Product warranties may be provided by manufacturers. Workmanship warranties may be provided by installers. The relevant warranty documentation will determine the scope and duration of those warranties.

Statutory consumer rights exist independently of any voluntary manufacturer's or installer's warranty.

14. Problems with an installation

If you have a problem with installation work, contact the installer first. Instaa may assist with communications or dispute resolution but does not become responsible for independent installation work merely because it assists.

You may also contact Instaa at:

15. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Instaa is not liable for loss caused by:

  • inaccurate information supplied by a customer
  • conduct outside Instaa's reasonable control
  • actions or omissions of independent installers
  • delays caused by product availability or third parties
  • indirect or consequential loss that could not reasonably have been contemplated.

This clause does not exclude liability or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

16. Website information

Product specifications, images, pricing and other website information are provided in good faith. Colours, dimensions and appearance may vary from digital representations.

Instaa may update website information at any time.

17. Intellectual property

The Instaa website, brand, software, quote technology, design, text, graphics and other content are owned by or licensed to Instaa.

You must not reproduce, scrape, copy, republish, reverse-engineer or commercially exploit our content or systems without permission.

18. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • provide intentionally false information
  • impersonate another person
  • interfere with the website
  • attempt unauthorised access
  • use automated scraping tools without permission
  • use the platform for unlawful purposes
  • submit fraudulent enquiries.

We may restrict access where we reasonably suspect misuse.

19. Reviews and user content

If you provide a review, photograph or other content for publication, you grant Instaa permission to display and use that material for operating and promoting the platform.

You must not provide unlawful, defamatory, misleading or infringing material. We may moderate or remove content.

20. Electronic communications

You consent to receiving communications necessary to administer your enquiry, quote, booking or transaction. Marketing communications are subject to separate consent and applicable spam and telemarketing laws.

Service communications and marketing communications should not be treated as the same thing.

21. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in the Instaa Privacy Policy.

22. Suspension and termination

We may suspend access to Instaa where reasonably necessary because of:

  • fraud
  • misuse
  • unlawful activity
  • security concerns
  • breach of these Terms.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply prospectively and will be published on our website.

Existing contractual rights will not be retrospectively changed unless permitted by law and agreed where required.

24. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and applicable Commonwealth laws.

Nothing in this clause limits any rights a consumer may have to commence proceedings in another jurisdiction where applicable law permits.
